Arts & Health Month will soon be upon us!
November is Arts & Health Month and we have a lovely message to pass onto you from Arts and Health Network Canada about the many ways you can celebrate and integrate the arts into your day, month, and life! Enjoy the act of creating in ways big and small this November.
Arts & Health Month at Arts and Health Network Canada:
This is an opportunity for organizations and individuals worldwide to promote the integration of the arts – including literary, performing, and visual arts and design – into a wide variety of healthcare and community settings for therapeutic, educational, and expressive purposes.
Arts Health Network Canada has a number of ways to get involved:
1. Follow the #artshealthmonth hashtag on social media to tag and share posts using the hashtag
3. Send us stories/videos/photos, using the #artshealthmonth hashtag, about how you, your friends or family are integrating art into daily life and how it has positively impacted your health.
4. Take part in our Arts Health Challenge –Keep an eye on our social media and website at the beginning of November for a daily prompt that will help you exercise your creative muscle, and even help you feel better.
We truly believe that the arts have the power to benefit communities by engaging people in programs aimed at prevention and wellness; to create safer, more supportive healthcare environments; and to offer caregivers an opportunity for creativity and self-expression.
Our hope is that together we can raise awareness of Arts and Health from coast to coast.
