Creative Wellness at Home Art Project Instructional Videos
This is a collection of instructional art project videos developed for Creative Wellness at Home for Indigenous Youth from Northern British Columbia. This is a free home-based creative experience is for Indigenous youth from northern British Columbia between the ages of 12 to 18 who are interested in arts and culture in wellness or who may be interested in pursuing careers in a health or social service field.
For each of these projects, youth received a creative wellness package that contained all necessary supplies and instructions. Youth also received a written creative prompt that led them through that month’s art activity and a related reflection question.
The artwork instructed in these videos encourages youth to explore and express their own personal and community strengths, creativity and culture as essential components to enhancing their own health and well-being and reaching their goals. We hope that youth who take part in these projects experience increased knowledge, awareness, and pride of Indigenous knowledges you already possess around health and wellness, and inspired to potentially pursue a future in health and science education paths and professions. Have a look at the instructional videos that you can too try at home!
