Indigenous Voices, Stories, and Healthcare

The HARC team was inspired and encouraged by the energy and conversations surrounding our two most recent workshops, “Indigenous Voices, Stories, and Healthcare”. The first was held in collaboration with BC Cancer (Centre for the North) in Prince George on Thursday, February 28th, and the second in collaboration with the College of New Caledonia (CNC) Nechako in Fort St. James on Saturday, March 2nd. Both were part of this year’s Ut’loo Noye Khunni~Weaving Words Celebration and connected with the festival’s overarching theme of “Justice for All”.

Warm thanks and appreciation to our presenters and storytellers, Garry Gottfriedson, Marion Erickson, and Sarah de Leeuw, as well as to all those that attended and shared the enthusiastic desire to listen and learn from each other. A special thanks also to our partners at BC Cancer, CNC Nechako and Northern Health (Indigenous Health).

We plan to continue to take this and similar workshops on the road across northern BC over the next year, so stay tuned, and if you’d like to discuss bringing a similar workshop to your organization or community, please be in touch!
