Greetings, my name is Shelby Loft and I am from Tyendinaga, Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte and Belleville, Ontario. I am currently a PhD Candidate at the University of British Columbia in the Department of Geography. My work focuses on Indigenous health, the body, and discourses of care with regards to the Indian Health Services (IHS) Era. My research stems from my father’s experiences of hospitalization during the IHS Era and is the source to my passion about Indigenous health, well-being, and informed consent.
