Monira Akther

HARC Mentee

Monira Akther is an undergraduate biomedical student at the University of Northern British Columbia. She was born and raised on traditional Lheidli T’enneh territory, also known as Prince George, and continues to call it home. Her strong sense of community, activism, and love of visual art brought her to the Health Arts Research Centre. At HARC she hopes to use her voice and knowledge to challenge notions of racism, sexism, colonialism, and anti-queer rhetoric. She has been loud against these topics before and hopes to be even louder alongside the HARC team.
