Our Medicines: A Cultural Humility Workshop for Healthcare Practitioners

With thanks and appreciation to the Elders, the Neyu team, the organizing team, and all the participants, we are proud to share that HARC’s accredited Cultural Humility Workshop for healthcare practitioners, “Our Medicines”, was a success. Twenty-nine participants from a variety of health care backgrounds took part in the informative and inspiring workshop facilitated in collaboration with Neyu Team, Guy and Ruby Prince and Two Rivers Gallery. In addition to learning more about the need to foster cultural humility in health care, participants had the opportunity to learn about Dakelh language and to listen to the panelists who graciously shared their powerful stories. At the end of the workshop, attendees spent time painting their wooden paddles which embodied their own cultural histories and hopes for their future journeys.
